The geographical scope is the cross-border region, comprising the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia in Italy (NUTS 2 ITH4), 1.200.000 inhabitants, and the statistical regions of Goriška (NUTS 3 SI043), 118.421 inhabitants, Obalno-kraška (NUTS 3 SI044), 117.000 inhabitants and Notranjsko-kraška (NUTS 3 SI038), 53.100 inhabitants, in Slovenia.
